Airmega 400s Review – The Wi-Fi-connected Airmega 400S Air Purifieris designed for large indoor spaces and has an integrated air quality sensor and two types of filters that filter particles up to 0.3 microns in size.
The model also has wireless capabilities, it has a special app that allows you to create air purification plans, check outdoor air quality, and control the airwalk while away from home.
Real-time monitoring of air quality
The air quality sensor from Airmega informs you in real time about the quality of the air in the room. With the colorful LED ring, you know every minute whether your air is fresh or unhealthy.
Smart mode Auto
Airmega’s Smart Mode automatically adjusts the air filtration speed to match the room’s current air quality.
When the air quality lasts 10 minutes or more, Airmega saves energy by turning off the fan. If the sensor detects airborne contamination, the fan automatically restarts.
Why you should buy
Allergies can be triggered by a number of airborne pollutants ranging from dust, pollen, mold spores and smoke particles to volatile organic compounds, dust mite excrement and even flue gas from fireplaces and automobiles.
Even short-term exposure to contaminants can cause health problems, and some medical studies suggest that long-term exposure to contaminated indoor air can lead to serious health problems such as shortness of breath, asthma, some cancers, and even death from rare diseases.
Regular use of anAirmega 400S Air Purifiercan reduce health risks associated with indoor air pollutants – and even eliminate risks altogether when used in conjunction with other air and surface cleaning techniques. These include the use of a HEPA vacuum cleaner, the regular washing of bed linen and the guarantee of environmentally friendly cleaning products.
Why it’s a top pick
The Airmega 400S Air Purifier is a great home-use air purifier that filters environmental toxins with two industrial-grade HEPA filters. The filters remove contaminants from the air, and due to their unique design, the machine is able to operate relatively quietly (52 dB) even at the highest airflow setting.
Aesthetically, this machine rocks the boat. Its unique design is visually appealing in every room. A multicolored light ring on the front of the unit indicates the air quality (the colors range from blue-green, green-yellow, orange-red and pink). Even the power cord of the cleaner is wrapped in a beautiful two-tone fabric. Coway really spent time with the finer details on this machine and it shows up.
The 400S features a smart mode that sets air purification performance based on air quality, and a differential pressure sensor that detects filter performance and warns the user when it’s time to install a set of new filters. The side panels are attached by two clips near the handles and two embedded magnets at the bottom.
The lifting and detaching at the base of each plate allows easy access to each filter assembly. One more thing that’s worth mentioning – that’s the very first air purifier we’ve received, which has individually wrapped the filter. Buyers should ensure that they follow the manufacturer’s Quick Start Guide on the packaging to ensure that the filter pack is removed before the machine is put into service for the first time.
Air purifiers are usually not models of thoughtful design. In fact, many can be outrageous. Not only is the Airmega 400S Air Purifieramong the least ugly things in your living room, we would even go so far as to call this box-shaped device attractive. This attention to design, which is by no means compulsory for a product in this category, is refreshing as these devices must be set up outdoors to do their job properly. The stylish look of the cleaner even gives information about its functionality. Thanks to the perforated sides, the Airmega 400S Air Purifier can suck in air at the opposite ends, through two washable pre-filters, an activated charcoal filter, and a green HEPA filter and push out the clean, easily breathing stuff through a vent at the top.
In terms of operation, the device has four modes; Manual, Sleep, Eco and Smart. The latter automatically adjusts the fan speed to the current air quality of the room without direct input from you. The eco mode is more or less a sub-mode and automatically turns into smart. When the air quality sensor registers clean air for 10 minutes, the air dam stops the fan and enters eco mode. This mode is activated only when the air quality drops again. In sleep mode, the Airmega 400S Air Purifier monitors whether the room is dark and whether the air quality is clean. If the latter two conditions are met, the fan and the bright LED indicator will turn off.
We played around with the different modes and tried to figure out if they turned on and off when they should. What we found was that the Airmega 400S Air Purifier not only seamlessly transitioned from one mode to another but also consistently and with virtually no delay. In fact, it’s scary how quickly the onboard sensor detects and responds to pollutants. we could not measure pollutants or particle levels directly, but the Airmega 400S Air Purifier only seemed to increase its air-purifying powers when it was appropriate, which was great.

Normally we kept all the windows and doors closed to our house, but on the few occasions when we opened the front door to walk the dog or pick up the mail, the Airmega 400S Air Purifier registered the bad air quality and turned on the fan, remove the smoky air from the eyes in just a few minutes. You must also consider power consumption and replacement filters. As far as we can tell, this price mainly reflects Airmega’s unique ability to quickly purify a large amount of air.
