Create a Futuristic Kitchen with These 7 Smart Devices

Discover Devices

Everyone knows that the most important part of a house is the kitchen, it’s where the family gets together to have meals and enjoy. Work in the kitchen can be a hassle and the use of technology can be beneficial in aiding preparation of food and much more. Here are a few kitchen gadgets that are sure to help you every day.

1. Triby

Triby wants to bring back the faithful kitchen post-it note in the annals of history. I’m sure we’ve all left notes for our friends and family in the fridge. Unfortunately, they can easily get lost among the myriad of other things that get stuck on your devices, or they can fall forever under the table and disappear. The magnetic Triby has a screen on which anyone can leave a message.

The device issues a warning and activates a mechanical flag when a message is received. But its functions do not stop at that. Triby also includes a built-in FM radio, can play music from your Spotify account, supports Bluetooth and can even make free VoIP calls (without signing up or paying for a subscription). The VoIP feature is especially useful if you have small children; you can contact family members without using your own phone or computer.

2. Drop

You know what they say

Cooking is an art form, baking is a science.

Meet Drop, your new science teacher. The Drop is a smart balance. You select the desired baking recipe from the app and load the ingredients into the balance. It will tell you if you have too much or too little of something and advise you on how to customize the ingredient list for larger or smaller portions.

One of the best features of the device is the “ingredient substitutions” technology. If you bake a cake and run out of milk or flour in the middle of the journey, the Drop will automatically suggest alternatives that will not ruin your creation or require you to travel to the store. Drop’s app (available on IOS) offers thousands of recipes to choose from, including food52 and good housekeeping dishes, and some of the most popular bloggers and bakers on the internet too.

3. Weber iGrill2 Smart Meat Thermometer

Are you tired of not knowing if your steak is medium-rare or medium? Get an igrill2 Bluetooth meat thermometer and quit the guessing game. The iGrill is especially useful when you are having a barbecue. Put the thermometer in your meat and you can sit back and relax with a beer, knowing that you will be alerted when the food is ready.

A charge lasts 200 hours; the magnetic device comes with four individual probes and has a range of 150 feet.

4. PancakeBot

Take time to learn how to use the software and the machine, and you will love this machine! The software: that’s my only criticism. It is not the best.

It needs a massive update that would allow dropping anchor points and rubber bands from anchor points to create smoother lines, similar to Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop. At the moment, you can only track tracks that work well, but not elegant. The device works well and is (usually) easy to clean.

The pressure hose that creates the suction is the only difficult part that you have to clean, and probably will invest in buying more hoses. Pancake batter can get stuck in this tube and when that happens, you have to shut down the whole operation and clean it before taking it back.

Nevertheless, all parts are well made and the grill plate (the most important part) is of good quality.

5. Moley

Moley is one of the smart technologies that we’ll see in our homes over the next few years – but it’s so cool it deserves a mention.

I will guide you through a typical day in the smart home of the future. Moley is considered the first “robot kitchen” in the world. It has two hands that have the same speed and freedom of movement as a human. It integrates into your oven and hob and can prepare and cook meals.

You simply choose your dish from the smartphone app, and Moley takes care of the rest. And if you’re worried about entrusting your dinner to a robot, do not worry. BBC Masterchef winner Tim Anderson was the model for the movements of the hands.
It means that Moley probably has better cooking skills than you! The unit will be priced at $ 75,000 when it hits the market in 2018, so it might take a while for you to find a Moley in every kitchen in the country. But if you have the money and you hate cooking, it could quickly turn out to be a must-have device.

6. Smarter FridgeCam

Are you tired of forgetting your shopping list when you go to Wal-Mart? Buy the smarter FridgeCam and end your worries. Are you shopping for groceries? It’s a smart camera that sits in your fridge. It sends a live feed of the contents of your refrigerator through the associated smartphone app.

If you are ever out of the house and cannot remember if you have milk and eggs in stock, it will have the answer. And the functions of the FridgeCam do not stop. It can detect food and expiration dates and will send you a notification if you are running out. If you connect the app to a large supermarket chain, it will even fill up your online shopping cart for you!

7. PanTelligent Intelligent Frying Pan

Just when you think that every conceivable element in your house has become “intelligent”, there is something else to surprise you. The Pantelligent intelligent frying pan should make it even easier to cook your dinner. Simply tell the smartphone app what you want to do and it will take over.

The pan can monitor the temperature using the built-in thermometer and you’ll get alerts when it gets too high or too low, when you need to turn or stir the food, or when it’s time to add more ingredients. And a buzzer sounds when the food is ready. If your kitchen is a hard activity, it’s a great way to keep yourself from getting distracted and ruining dinner.

In Conclusion

Just a few years ago, manufacturers focused exclusively on large appliances such as intelligent dishwashers and smart refrigerators. Today there is much more variety and the technology is much more useful. You can use any of these 7 devices to upgrade your kitchen today!
